Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, USA is an American actress. She is best known for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well in ABC's Lost television series. After her parents divorced, she relocated with her mother into Los Angeles. In 2001, despite her finances she managed to land her first major performance in the video online show Rachel's Room in the role of Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002, she was nominated for an Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. The show featured her as the principal role for two seasons, and won a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace left the television series in 2005 to pursue the role of a greater part in films, having appeared alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. The actress was on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. In 2008, she played the same role on Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace was Shannon once more in the show's finale and in two additional episodes. The year was 2013, and she was a guest in the sixth series of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's a star-gazer and groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), as well as more senior than Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was a teenager, she began to work in small roles for her father. She also appeared in Donnie Darko alongside her brother. Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performance in the romantic erotic comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination. Other roles she has played include a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in the film Frank (2014) as well as The title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal started her career as a screenwriter and director in 2021, when she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film won Best Screenplay at the Venice International Film Festival, and was also nominated for the Academy Award.
