Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. Her family made the move to Oxfordshire at the age of five where she attended at the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma decided that she wanted to be an actor and for some time she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied the art of acting and dancing. By the time she turned 10 Emma was already taking part in a variety of Stagecoach Productions as well as school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been chosen for these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first cinematic appearance was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It was also the most profitable film in the year 2001. Its opening Saturday and Sunday the sales were unbeatable. Reviewers have been highly acclaimed of the film and performance of the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British newspaper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Afterward, Emma was nominated for five awards based on her performance in the film winning The Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in an Feature Film.
